Learn how CBD may be able to help you focus and concentrate along with what CBD products may help most.

Do you find yourself sometimes struggling to stay focused on work-related tasks? Shifting priorities, electronic devices, and the demands of everyday life can make it hard to focus long enough to complete tasks in a timely manner. A recent study revealed that workplace distractions cause roughly half of us to feel that we are significantly less productive than we would be without those distractions.

What exactly are those irritating distractions, though? In the workplace, chatty office mates, smartphones, and even meetings made the list. A shift to remote work may have provided a great solution for some, while others found themselves mentally drifting in the comfort of their own home, wandering off to watch a TV show or fold a load of laundry when they should be working.

Wherever we work, there will be distractions. We don’t have to give in to those things that would thwart our productivity, however, there are solutions available. Keep reading to learn how CBD may be able to help you focus and concentrate along with what CBD products may help most:

How Does CBD Help Focus?

Cannabidiol (CBD) is extracted from the hemp plant and interacts with the body’s endocannabinoid system (ECS), which is vital to our ability to regulate memory, immune response, and so much more. Our bodies generate endocannabinoids all the time, whether we use CBD products or not. A benefit of taking CBD products is that they supplement and aid the body’s natural endocannabinoids.

Working with your body’s ECS, CBD can support a sense of calm for better focus by alleviating everyday stress and occasional anxiety. Feeling less stressed and anxious naturally makes it easier to focus on the task at hand. Additionally, CBD can also reduce exercise-induced inflammation and improve your quality of sleep.*

What does the research say about CBD’s impact on our ability to focus?

A 2020 study published in the Journal of Psychopharmacology showed that one 600 mg serving size of CBD increases the blood flow to the hippocampus, the part of the brain responsible for memory processing. There was also a reduction in reaction time for certain memory tasks performed by test subjects.

What’s more, a report published by the National Institutes of Health in 2018 indicated that CBD can support mental health and sharpness in several ways. The report showed that CBD supplements may promote new neuron growth in the brain, which likely explains why CBD can support occasional anxiety, sadness, and focus.

Does CBD help with memory?

Along with its positive effect on focus, CBD has also shown to improve memory. A review of clinical studies for the Journal of Cannabis Research shows a positive relationship between CBD use and improvements in “attention, executive function, working memory, and episodic memory.”

How much CBD should I take for focus?

Unfortunately, there is not one specific serving size of CBD that everyone can take to support their focus or concentration. This is because everyone’s body is different and what works best for you may not work for everyone. To find the amount that works best for you, start off with a small serving twice a day and work your way up from there until you feel your desired effects.
